You’re probably wondering,

‘What on earth was that guy doing?’

Here's why I was photographing soap bubbles...

I'm Rob Clayton.

For years, I've been photographing the world reflected on the surface of real soap bubbles.

I've always loved the idea that something so ordinary can become extraordinary for just a few seconds. Most people never notice it. I want to preserve those moments before they're gone forever.

Every image is captured for real.

✓ No AI.

✓ No Photoshop composites.

✓ No CGI.

Just patience, light, weather... and a bubble that only lasts for a few seconds.

The most beautiful things in life are often the ones we almost miss.

Did I get the shot today?

When you saw me, I knew exactly what I was trying to photograph.

What I don't know yet is whether I actually managed to capture it.

I'll find out when I get home and go through today's images.

Because they let us see the world in a way we never normally can.

For a fraction of a second they become tiny, iridescent mirrors, reflecting landscapes, buildings and skylines before disappearing forever.

Every bubble is unique. Every reflection lasts only moments before disappearing forever.

Most people never notice them.

I'm trying to preserve those moments.

So... why bubbles?

Thanks for stopping by!

Whether you scanned the QR code from ten metres away or came over for a closer look, I'm really glad you did.

I hope next time you see a soap bubble, you'll look a little closer.
